Job summary

Salla is seeking an Accountant – Logistics to join the Finance team in shaping accounting for its growing logistics operations. You will handle revenue and cost accounting, billing, collections, merchant compensations, and financial controls across the shipping domain.

Key duties include revenue reconciliation, expense tracking, month-end closing, variance analysis, and producing audit-ready financials. Strong IFRS knowledge and collaboration with Operations and Product are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in logistics/shipping/e-commerce.
• Hands-on experience with revenue and cost accounting, vendor invoice reconciliation, COGS, and financial reconciliations.
• Experience supporting month-end closing, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
• Working knowledge of IFRS, including revenue recognition, accruals, and deferred revenue.
• Understanding of shipping and logistics transactions including AWBs, shipping rates, vendor billing, and shipping margin analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify discrepancies and revenue leakage.
• High attention to detail for high-volume transactional data.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills across cross-functional teams.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing processes, priorities, and workflows in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional proficiency in Arabic and English.
• Experience with Power BI, SQL, or similar data-analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Revenue management: accurately calculate logistics revenues and reconcile with invoices; manage deferred revenue per IFRS.
• Cost management: reconcile invoices with records, record COGS, ensure timely payments to vendors.
• Reporting and reconciliation: periodic reconciliations, analytics on billing, margins, and revenue; audit-ready records.

Salla is one of the leading e-commerce platforms in the MENA region, empowering merchants with innovative digital solutions to start, manage, and grow their businesses. As we continue to scale our logistics and shipping operations, we are looking for an Accountant – Logistics to join our Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurate accounting, reconciliation, and reporting across logistics operations, including revenue and cost management, billing, collections, merchant compensations, and financial controls.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Revenue Management:

• Accurately calculate logistics-related revenues and track financial performance metrics.
• Reconcile generated revenues against issued invoices and systematically resolve any discrepancies.
• Record, monitor, and manage deferred revenue in compliance with accounting standards (IFRS).
• Investigate significant fluctuations in logistics revenue, costs, volumes, and margins

2. Cost Management:

• Reconcile vendor and logistics partner invoices against internal operational records (e.g., AWBs and shipping rates).
• Process and record Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and direct shipping cost entries accurately.
• Identify potential revenue leakage, excess vendor charges, incorrect pricing
• Ensure timely and accurate payments to logistics vendors and shipping partners.

3. Reporting & Financial Reconciliation:

• Prepare periodic reconciliations for all logistics transactions, shipping gateways, and clearing accounts.
• Generate analytical reports on billing, collections, logistics margins, and revenue analysis.
• Maintain fully audit-ready financial records compliant with accounting standards.
• Ensure timely respond to and fulfill auditors' requirements and data requests.
• Knowledge in Shipping Margin & Financial Analysis.
• Contribute in Month-End Closing & Financial Reporting.
• Good in Financial Controls & Data Integrity.
• Strict adherence to compliance and regulatory standards.
• Support monthly variance analysis and management reporting relating to Salla's shipping business.

• Continuous Improvement: Proactively evaluate, optimize, and streamline shipping and logistics accounting workflows.
• Problem Solving & Coordination: Collaborate directly with Operations, Product, and Account Management teams to resolve pending requests, unmapped transactions, and operational bottlenecks.
