Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking experienced Surface Well Testing Supervisors and Chief Operators to support offshore Qatar campaigns. You will oversee well testing operations on offshore facilities, lead rig-up and testing activities, and ensure compliance with HSE and client procedures to maintain safe, efficient operations.

This role requires hands-on SWT experience, familiarity with major contractors, and the ability to work in rotational offshore assignments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years' experience in Surface Well Testing operations.
• Offshore well testing experience required.
• Familiar with offshore permit-to-work systems and HSE requirements.
• Ability to work in rotational offshore assignments.
• Experience with SLB (Schlumberger) is highly preferred.

Assignment Details

• Location: Offshore Qatar
• Start Date: January 2027
• Contract Duration: 12 Months
• Rotation: 6 Weeks On / 3 Weeks Off
• Positions Available: 10 (Supervisors & Chief Operators)

About the Role

Our client is seeking experienced Surface Well Testing (SWT) Supervisors and Chief Operators to support offshore well testing campaigns in Qatar. The selected candidates will play a key role in executing and managing well test operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and uninterrupted testing activities while maintaining the highest HSE standards.

This opportunity is ideally suited to professionals who have gained hands‑on experience with leading well testing service providers, particularly SLB, and have a proven track record in offshore operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

SWT Supervisor

• Direct and oversee all well testing operations onboard offshore facilities and drilling units.
• Lead testing crews during rig-up, commissioning, testing, and equipment demobilization.
• Ensure compliance with client procedures, operational programs, and HSE requirements.
• Monitor test data and operational parameters to optimize well performance.
• Coordinate activities between client representatives, drilling teams, and offshore personnel.
• Manage daily operational reporting and job documentation.
• Conduct safety meetings, risk assessments, and toolbox talks.

Chief Operator

• Operate surface well testing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform routine inspections and functional checks of test equipment.
• Monitor pressure, flow rate, temperature, and separator performance.
• Support rig-up and rig-down activities.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and report abnormalities to supervisors.
• Maintain accurate operational logs and test records.
• Ensure adherence to company and client safety procedures.

Candidate Requirements

Mandatory

• Minimum 5+ years' experience in Surface Well Testing operations.
• Demonstrated offshore well testing experience.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Test Separators
  • Choke Manifolds
  • ESD Systems
  • Sampling Equipment
  • Flow Measurement Equipment
  • Surface Production Testing Packages
• Familiarity with offshore permit-to-work systems and HSE requirements.
• Ability to work in rotational offshore assignments.

Highly Preferred

• Previous employment with SLB (Schlumberger).
• Experience with major well testing contractors such as:
  • Expro
  • Halliburton
  • Weatherford
  • AlMansoori
  • TETRA
  • SGS
• GCC or Middle East offshore project experience.
• Valid BOSIET / FOET, H2S and Offshore Medical certificates.
