Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for a Qatar & China LNG expansion program. The role is on-site, long-term, with a rotation of 12 weeks on/2 weeks off, and 100% onshore delivery.

You will oversee vendor packages, manage schedules, and drive readiness for critical milestones across fabrication yards and subcontractors. Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Sciences and 4+ years in Oil & Gas, with strong communication, HSE and reporting skills to

• Experience across Project Engineering, Project Management, Construction, Procurement, and Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

• Oversee vendor package performance and monitor delivery schedules.
• Coordinate vendor readiness for PIM, FAT, SAT, and manufacturing milestones.
• Drive closure of punch items and prevent carry-over to construction yards.
• Identify, assess and mitigate delivery and execution risks.
• Monitor vendor KPIs and improve performance and schedule reliability.
• Support constructability initiatives and lessons learned.
• Ensure HSE and Quality compliance across activities.
• Coordinate between project teams, vendors, contractors and fabrication yards.
• Provide regular vendor performance reporting to project management.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.

Project Engineer | Qatar & China | Long-Term Contract

Location: Qatar (until end-2027) followed by China (until early-2030) | 100% Onshore

Contract Type: Long-Term Contract

Work Schedule: 8-10 Hours Per Day, Saturday to Thursday

Rotation: 12 Weeks ON / 2 Weeks OFF (Single Status)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join a major LNG expansion project, supporting the Project Engineering and Supply Chain team. The successful candidate will oversee vendor packages, equipment, and material delivery performance, ensuring alignment with project schedules and Required on Site (ROS) milestones.

The role requires close coordination with vendors, subcontractors, fabrication yards, and project stakeholders to ensure manufacturing readiness, quality compliance, and successful execution of key project milestones.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee vendor package performance and monitor equipment/material delivery schedules.
• Coordinate vendor and sub-vendor readiness for PIM, FAT, SAT, and other manufacturing milestones.
• Drive closure of punch items and ensure no vendor carry-over to construction yards.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate delivery and execution risks.
• Monitor vendor KPIs and develop solutions to improve performance and schedule reliability.
• Support implementation of constructability initiatives and lessons learned from previous projects.
• Ensure compliance with HSE and Quality requirements across all project activities.
• Coordinate effectively between project teams, vendors, contractors, and fabrication yards.
• Provide regular vendor performance reporting to project management teams.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders and key suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Sciences.
• Minimum 4+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Experience across multiple project functions such as:

  • Procurement
  • Supply Chain

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of offshore facilities design, construction, and operations.
• Understanding of engineering execution and multidisciplinary project environments.
• Familiarity with quality assurance, inspection processes, and manufacturing practices.
• Experience with equipment manufacturing, fabrication yard operations, and construction methods.
• Strong HSE mindset and commitment to safe work practices.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Navisworks.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required.
