The role connects stockroom operations with customer-facing retail activity, making inventory accuracy and timely replenishment essential to maintaining product availability. The position requires careful handling of merchandise, disciplined inventory recording, good physical organization, and close coordination with store management and sales associates. Accurate inward and outward stock movement also helps reduce discrepancies, prevent losses, and support reliable stock-taking processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive incoming merchandise and verify physical quantities against electronic inventory records.
  • Count stock accurately during deliveries and immediately report discrepancies to the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
  • Inspect merchandise for visible damage, defects, or quality concerns before items are accepted into stock.
  • Ensure products are stored and handled correctly to minimize damage and maintain merchandise condition.
  • Organize stockroom inventory according to store procedures, product categories, and accessibility requirements.
  • Classify newly received merchandise and place items in designated storage locations for quick retrieval.
  • Tag newly arrived products according to established store procedures.
  • Process stock returns when instructed by senior team members and maintain the required documentation.
  • Support sales associates by replenishing merchandise on shelves and sales‑floor displays as stock levels change.
  • Monitor product availability and help ensure high‑demand items are replenished promptly.
  • Record inventory movements accurately for all inward and outward stock transactions.
  • Maintain stock movement reports and assist management with inventory reconciliation when required.
  • Check merchandise for missing or incorrect price tags and report issues for corrective action.
  • Assist with periodic stock counts and formal Stock Take processes.
  • Maintain orderly storage areas and follow high housekeeping standards throughout the stockroom.
  • Remain alert to security risks and follow store loss‑prevention procedures while handling merchandise.
  • Support proper control of stock access and promptly report unusual inventory discrepancies.
  • Work extended hours when required during sales campaigns, festivals, seasonal peaks, or major promotional periods.
  • Handle merchandise safely and remain physically capable of lifting items weighing approximately 10 kg.
  • Coordinate with store management and colleagues to maintain smooth stockroom-to-sales‑floor product flow.
