Role Context

The Store Manager will lead the day-to-day commercial and operational performance of the retail outlet, ensuring employees understand sales priorities, customer expectations, product knowledge, and brand standards. The role combines sales leadership with workforce supervision, stock management, store administration, visual merchandising, customer engagement, loyalty development, and loss prevention. By maintaining a strong presence on the sales floor and providing clear direction to the team, the Store Manager will help maximize revenue while protecting inventory and delivering a consistent brand experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the store team toward daily, weekly, and monthly sales objectives.
  • Brief employees on current sales targets, promotional priorities, product focus, and customer service expectations.
  • Monitor individual and team performance and provide practical coaching where improvement is required.
  • Apply creative selling techniques and commercial initiatives to achieve or exceed store revenue targets.
  • Ensure customers receive attentive, knowledgeable, and professional service throughout their store visit.
  • Maintain current knowledge of merchandise, new launches, fashion trends, seasonal collections, and brand direction.
  • Use product knowledge to support effective customer recommendations and suggestive selling.
  • Promote the Club Apparel Loyalty Program to encourage repeat purchases and strengthen customer retention.
  • Ensure adequate stock levels are maintained to capture available sales opportunities.
  • Monitor stockroom organization and ensure inventory is handled according to company procedures.
  • Take practical measures to minimize stock loss, discrepancies, and preventable inventory damage.
  • Maintain strong security awareness throughout store operations and ensure employees follow loss-prevention procedures.
  • Implement company and brand operating procedures consistently across all areas of the store.
  • Ensure staff comply with established policies, service standards, grooming requirements, and operating guidelines.
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards in line with approved brand and VM requirements.
  • Regularly inspect displays, merchandise presentation, signage, and sales-floor organization.
  • Conduct weekly reviews of store administration and investigate discrepancies requiring corrective action.
  • Manage staff rosters, leave schedules, attendance requirements, and operational workforce coverage.
  • Address employee concerns and grievances appropriately while maintaining productive working relationships.
  • Provide the Area Manager and Operations Manager with relevant feedback on employees, products, customer response, and store performance.
  • Monitor product demand and communicate observations that may support assortment, replenishment, and merchandising decisions.
  • Maintain awareness of other brands within the group to support cross-brand knowledge and customer recommendations.
  • Take full operational responsibility for opening, trading, closing, administration, stock control, customer service, and team supervision.
  • Remain available for extended standing periods and physical store duties, including merchandise handling when required.
Ideal Profile

The preferred candidate will have previous experience managing or supervising a retail store, ideally within fashion, footwear, accessories, lifestyle, or a comparable customer-facing environment. Strong sales leadership is important, together with the ability to translate store targets into clear priorities for the retail team. Candidates should demonstrate good knowledge of customer service, stock control, visual merchandising, team scheduling, store administration, and retail operating procedures. A strong interest in fashion and current product trends is valuable, as the role requires confident communication with customers and an up-to-date understanding of merchandise. The successful candidate should be well groomed, commercially aware, organized, and comfortable taking responsibility for store performance throughout the trading day.
