Job summary

Client of 2COMs in Qatar is seeking an experienced Ship Chandler to manage sourcing, procurement and delivery of provisions, spare parts, safety equipment and other essential supplies for vessels at Qatar ports.

The candidate should have 2–5 years of experience in ship chandling, maritime procurement, marine supply, or related fields, with knowledge of port operations, and customs clearance. Proficiency in English is required; Arabic or Hindi is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of experience in ship chandling, maritime procurement, marine supply, or related fields.
• Good knowledge of ship supplies, vessel requirements, port operations, and marine logistics.
• Proficiency in English; Arabic, Hindi, or other regional languages are an advantage.
• Valid Qatar/GCC driving license is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced maritime and logistics environment.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure ship provisions, spare parts and safety equipment for vessels.
• Coordinate with owners, captains, suppliers and port authorities.
• Process orders, quotations, invoices and payment follow-ups.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of supplies to vessels.
• Maintain inventory and coordinate stock with suppliers.
• Negotiate prices and terms with vendors for cost-efficient procurement.
• Coordinate customs clearance and port documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Qatar port regulations and maritime safety.
• Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams for dispatch.
• Handle customer queries and resolve service issues.
• Maintain records of procurement, deliveries and supplier transactions.
• Prepare regular reports on procurement and delivery activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure ship provisions spare parts safety equipment and technical materials as per vessel requirements
• Coordinate with ship owners captains procurement teams suppliers and port authorities
• Process customer orders quotations invoices billing and payment follow-ups
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of supplies to vessels
• Maintain inventory and coordinate with suppliers for stock availability
• Negotiate prices and terms with vendors to ensure cost-effective procurement
• Coordinate customs clearance port documentation and shipment requirements
• Ensure compliance with Qatar port regulations customs procedures and maritime safety standards
• Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams for smooth dispatch and delivery
• Handle customer queries and resolve service-related issues
• Maintain proper records of procurement sales deliveries and supplier transactions
• Prepare regular reports on procurement and delivery activities

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Maritime Studies, or Business Administration is preferred. 2 to 5 years of experience in ship chandling, maritime procurement, marine supply, or related fields. Good knowledge of ship supplies, vessel requirements, port operations, and marine logistics . Knowledge of Qatar port operations and customs clearance procedures is preferred. Good communication and negotiation skills. Proficiency in English is required. Knowledge of Arabic, Hindi, or other regional languages will be an advantage. Valid Qatar/GCC driving license is preferred but not mandatory. Ability to work in a fast-paced maritime and logistics environment.
