Job summary

QAFCO in Mesaieed, Qatar, seeks an experienced Rotating/Package Mechanical Engineer to design, develop and integrate rotating equipment into existing plants, ensuring compliance with QAFCO procedures and standards.

You will lead project teams, perform root-cause analysis, prepare datasheets and RFQs, evaluate supplier bids, and support execution while mentoring junior engineers and maintaining HSE compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• At least 10 years of rotating or package mechanical engineering experience in petrochemical or ammonia/urea plants.
• Proficient in developing datasheets, reviewing engineering documents, procurement, and installation of rotating equipment.
• Experience as project engineer for mechanical package design and supply is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead project activities for rotating equipment and related systems.
• Perform root cause analysis and calculations to specify equipment per codes and standards.
• Prepare datasheets, specifications and RFQs; evaluate supplier proposals.
• Oversee P&ID reviews, 3-D piping models, and HAZOP sessions; conduct design reviews and inspections.
• Support cost control and knowledge transfer to junior engineers.
