Job summary

QAFCO (Qatar Fertiliser Company) seeks an experienced technician for preventive maintenance, repair, overhaul, and troubleshooting of rotating equipment (steam/gas turbines, compressors, pumps) and auxiliaries in Mesaieed. Requires 5+ years in fertilizer/petrochemical/oil & gas. Emphasizes safety (LOTO) and precision alignment, with SAP task reporting.

Role involves supervision of contracted manpower during shutdowns and strict adherence to OEM procedures and quality standards.

Qualifications

High School plus 2-year Diploma in a relevant discipline.
Minimum 5 years direct experience in Fertilizer, Petrochemical, Chemical, or Oil & Gas.
Ability to work independently and in a team with strong communication and troubleshooting.
Familiar with engineering drawings and documentation.
Familiar with precision measuring tools.

Responsibilities

Carry out day-to-day routine and non-routine maintenance activities independently.
Provide advice on completion of work and monitor progress against plans.
Gain approval for cold work permits to ensure safety compliance.
Lead toolbox meetings to discuss scheduled activities and ensure tools are available.
Identify and report problems to avert malfunctions.
Adhere to safety procedures including LOTO and hazardous-area requirements.
Perform alignment checks using dial gauges and laser systems.
Assist in dismantling and assembly of rotating equipment with precision components.
Conduct cleaning, inspection, and minor refurbishment of parts.
Support lubrication activities and oil analysis as needed.
Complete work notifications and report tasks in SAP.
