Job summary

WSP International LLC – Qatar Branch is seeking a Resident Engineer – Roads to supervise day-to-day road and related infrastructure works for an Ashghal GEC Framework project. You will ensure construction aligns with drawings, specifications, contractual obligations, and Ashghal quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; PE registration preferred.
• Education shall be from North America, Europe, Australia or equivalent.
• Minimum 15 years in road construction supervision.
• Knowledge of Ashghal specs, Qatar codes and international road standards.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs and contracts.
• Strong English communication; Arabic a plus.
• Experience with QA/QC processes and documentation.
• Proficient in Primavera P6, MS Project and MS Office.
• On-site work in challenging environments; travel as required.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.
• Valid Qatar work permit or eligibility to obtain one.
• MMUP Registration is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily road works to ensure alignment with drawings and specs.
• Verify contractor compliance with Ashghal standards and WSP QA/QC procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections, progress measurements, and daily reports.
• Coordinate with design engineers, client reps, and subcontractors to resolve issues.
• Review and approve shop drawings, submittals, and method statements.
• Manage change orders, variations, and deviations from the scope.
• Ensure HSE regulations are strictly followed on site.
• Facilitate progress meetings and communicate status to project management.
• Track schedule, identify delays, and propose mitigations.
• Maintain records of site activities, test results, and QC documentation.
