Job summary

WSP International LLC – Qatar Branch invites a highly experienced Resident Engineer – Roads to lead day-to-day supervision and delivery of road works under the Ashghal framework. You will ensure conformance with drawings, specs, contractual obligations and QA/QC procedures on site.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, 15+ years of road construction supervision experience, and fluency in English. PE preferred; knowledge of Ashghal standards and Primavera P6/MS Project is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; PE registration preferred.
• Education from North America, Europe, Australia or equivalent.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in road construction supervision.
• In-depth knowledge of Ashghal specifications and Qatar codes.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and contract documents.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Office.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
• Valid Qatar work permit or eligibility to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily road construction activities against drawings and specs.
• Verify contractor compliance with Ashghal standards and QA/QC procedures.
• Conduct site inspections, progress measurements, and daily reports.
• Coordinate with design engineers, client reps, and subcontractors.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, and method statements before implementation.
• Manage change orders, variations, and deviations from scope.
• Ensure HSE regulations are followed on site.
• Facilitate progress meetings and communicate status updates.
• Track project schedule, identify delays, and propose mitigations.
• Maintain records of site activities and QA/QC documentation.
