Job summary

Qatar Petroleum (QatarEnergy) is seeking an experienced Offshore DCS Specialist to monitor and control complex DCS-based production offshore. The role emphasizes safety, precise telemetry interpretation, and responsive alarm handling in a live gas environment.

Candidates must hold OPITO BOSIET, OGUK medical fitness, and H2S awareness certificates with at least 5 years of field DCS experience. Rotational schedule includes 28/28 format with comprehensive offshore housing and health benefits.

Job description

Job Requirements:

• Mandatory possession of valid, unexpired offshore survival credentials, specifically OPITO BOSIET, alongside strict H2S (Hydrogen Sulfide) awareness certification.
• Minimum of 5 years of verifiable, hands-on field experience operating complex Distributed Control Systems (DCS) directly within a live offshore oil and gas environment.
• Strict requirement for an active OGUK offshore medical fitness certificate; candidates must demonstrate advanced proficiency in reading live telemetry and P&ID documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Continuously monitor and physically regulate offshore production equipment via the main DCS interface, adjusting wellhead chokes to safely maximize daily natural gas output.
• Acknowledge and troubleshoot critical system alarms across high-risk deck zones, immediately initiating emergency platform shutdown sequences during confirmed gas leaks.
• Manage and strictly authorize the Permit to Work (PTW) system for designated areas, ensuring all maintenance crews safely isolate heavy machinery using LOTO protocols.
