Job summary

Milaha in Qatar is seeking an experienced Marine Engineer for offshore support vessels. You will perform precise mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs to minimise downtime during drilling operations and actively monitor propulsion and fuel systems.

The role requires an active Class 1 or Class 2 Marine Engineer COC, valid STCW certifications, and at least four years offshore experience with heavy diesel engines, generators, and DP2.

  • STCW certifications valid and seaman's discharge book.
  • Minimum four years offshore experience maintaining and troubleshooting heavy marine diesel engines, generators, and DP2 systems.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs on offshore support vessels to minimise downtime during drilling operations.
  • Monitor and optimise propulsion systems and fuel consumption in compliance with MARPOL regulations.
  • Coordinate with the Chief Engineer to plan and execute drydock maintenance and supervise third-party shipyard contractors.

Job description

Job Requirements:
  • Mandatory possession of an active Class 1 or Class 2 Marine Engineer Certificate of Competency (COC) from an internationally recognized maritime authority.
  • Strict requirement of valid, up-to-date STCW (Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping) certifications and an active seaman's discharge book.
  • Minimum of four years of highly documented offshore experience, specifically maintaining and troubleshooting heavy marine diesel engines, generators, and dynamic positioning (DP2) systems.
Responsibilities:
  • Execute critical mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs on offshore support vessels, ensuring zero downtime during high-stakes drilling support operations.
  • Strictly monitor and optimize the vessel's propulsion systems and fuel consumption, maintaining full compliance with MARPOL environmental and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with the Chief Engineer to plan and execute comprehensive drydock maintenance schedules, overseeing third-party shipyard contractors.
