Job summary

QD-SBG Construction is seeking an experienced PMV Maintenance Engineer for Lusail, Qatar. The role involves planning preventive maintenance, diagnosing faults, and coordinating on-site repairs to ensure reliability and safety of equipment and vehicles across project sites.

The ideal candidate has 8–12 years of PMV maintenance experience in construction, a mechanical engineering degree, and relevant certifications. You will mentor junior staff and manage maintenance budgets with KPI oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8-12 years’ experience in PMV maintenance within the construction industry.
• Relevant certifications in equipment maintenance and experience with construction machinery.
• Strong technical knowledge of construction machinery and equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills, knowledge of safety regulations, and hands-on experience in maintenance operations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules, troubleshoot breakdowns and coordinate repairs for equipment and vehicles at project sites to ensure optimal reliability, safety and minimal downtime.
• Ensure machinery, systems and equipment operate optimally with minimal downtime by planning and executing maintenance tasks.
• Conduct maintenance process audits and inspections to verify compliance with procedures and identify improvement opportunities.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and develop corrective actions or repair plans.
• Undertake planned maintenance and establish maintenance procedures and protocols for new and existing equipment.
• Train equipment operators and maintenance staff on proper operating and maintenance procedures.
• Respond promptly to major equipment breakdowns, coordinating on-site repairs and liaising with vendors for specialist support.
• Forecast and plan for system overhauls and upgrades, taking long-term maintenance costs into account.
• Supervise and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians during maintenance activities.
• Procure, test and commission specialist components, fixtures or fittings as required.
• Work closely with the maintenance manager and finance department to manage maintenance budgets and set and track KPIs.
• Supervise the maintenance, inspection, and certification of lifting equipment, mobile cranes, and other heavy equipment.
