Job summary

Turiqa LLC in Doha, Qatar seeks a senior Lifting Equipment Supervisor to oversee operation, maintenance, inspection, and supervision of lifting gear across project sites. This role leads riggers and operators, ensuring repairs meet standards and safety laws.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years in lifting equipment, oil & gas project exposure, and fluent English. Expect strong leadership, planning, and hands-on yard presence with 80% on-site work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in lifting equipment.
• Oil & Gas project experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Supervise operation, maintenance and inspection of all lifting equipment across project sites.
• Lead the lifting division personnel including riggers and equipment operators.
• Ensure repairs and inspections comply with industry standards and manufacturer recommendations.
• Develop lifting plans, rigging scenarios and risk assessments for critical lifts.
• Coach and assess competency of riggers and operators.
• Monitor compliance with HSE policies in lifting operations.
• Maintain integrity and certification validity of crane structures and components.
• Coordinate with manufacturers and dealers on lifting fleet issues.
• Use lifting software to generate load charts and lifting plans.
• Advise on refurbishment, replacement or disposal strategies for lifting equipment.
• Monitor spare parts inventory to ensure cost-effective operations.
• Maintain documentation and reporting on lifting operations and inspections.
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the operation maintenance and inspection of all lifting equipment across the project sites
• Manage and lead the personnel within the lifting division including riggers and equipment operators
• Ensure that repairs and inspections of lifting equipment and lifting gear slings spreader beams chains shackles are in full compliance with relevant industry standards and manufacturer recommendations
• Develop and maintain lifting plans rigging scenarios and risk assessments for critical heavy complex and tandem lifting activities
• Guide train and assess the competency of riggers and operators in line with best practices and company policies
• Monitor and enforce compliance with HSE policies and regulations in all lifting operations
• Ensure the technical integrity and certification validity of crane structures and their components e g chassis boom wire ropes sheaves LMI systems safety control circuits
• Maintain effective coordination with manufacturers and dealers on technical issues related to the lifting fleet including mobile cranes crawler cranes manlifts scissor lifts forklifts
• Utilize specialized lifting software to generate load charts and design safe and efficient lifting plans
• Advise management on refurbishment replacement or disposal strategies for lifting equipment
• Monitor and control spare parts inventory to ensure cost-effective and uninterrupted operations
• Maintain required documentation and reporting related to lifting operations equipment status and inspections
• Investigate any lifting-related incidents identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 12 years of experience in lifting equipment
• Prior experience in Oil & Gas projects is highly preferred
• Strong leadership and communication skills with a commanding personality
• Solid knowledge of international lifting standards and safety regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD is an added advantage
• Fluent in spoken and written English
