Job summary

QatarEnergy in Qatar is seeking a Senior Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to direct and coordinate maintenance of static and rotating equipment across Mesaieed facilities.

You will lead planning, ensure CMMS/SAP compliance, support project work, and drive safe, reliable operations in oil, gas, and petrochemical assets.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 10 years of field experience, and strong English language skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance/engineering, installation / commissioning, overhaul & repair of process plant static & rotating equipment & machinery in Oil, Gas, Petrochemical industries.
• Experience in computerized maintenance management systems (SAP) is mandatory.
• Should be conversant with fire & safety aspects of hydrocarbon industry, and with quality & environment management systems.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering; strong written and spoken English.
• Troubleshooting skills in hydrocarbon process plant static & rotating equipment; computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates the work activities of maintenance personnel for static & rotating equipment and piping in hydrocarbon plants.
• Supports FEED and EPIC for ongoing and upcoming engineering projects; participates in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
• Ensures activities align with CMMS/SAP Plant Maintenance requirements and safety procedures; analyzes KPI and maintains targets.
• Provides leadership and manages project interface and contracts within approved authorities.
• Maintains asset integrity and ensures timely maintenance to maximize plant availability.

Job description

Primary Purpose of the Job

Directs, supervises & coordinates the work activities of assigned personnel in carrying out the preventive, corrective, predictive, general & inspection related mechanical maintenance and asset integrity related activities of static & rotating equipment & associated piping/related accessories in hydrocarbon process plant; installed in Mesaieed Crude oil and Naphtha Condensate Storage facilities (Tank Farm & Arab-D/Naphtha area), Export Loading Pump facilities, Tank farm workshop & associated utilities. In addition to the above, holds the responsibility for all the maintenance and asset integrity related jobs pertaining to mechanical discipline for Crude oil, Naphtha & Fire water pipelines between the Tank farm & up to Terminal & loss prevention static and rotary equipment installed in the above area.

Supervises & coordinates the planning and execution of in-house mechanical maintenance projects. Supports FEED and EPIC for the ongoing and upcoming engineering projects related to the above areas. Participates in the pre commissioning and commissioning activities of new assets, along with the asset holder / OEM specialists & vendors.

Ensures that all the above activities are carried out timely, in line with CMMS / SAP Plant maintenance, material and Contract module requirements, following QatarEnergy safety procedures/regulations with a view to attain optimum availability of plant and machinery, for operations. Analyses SAP PM Module key performance indicators (KPI) & ensure that the same are within the targets/bench marked limits. Ensures that all maintenance& project interface activities are carried out as per the approved management system procedures & follow safety, quality & environment management requirements/objectives. Exercises financial authority at the level established by the management, as per the QatarEnergy manual of authorities.

Required Experience and Skills

Minimum 10 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance operations/engineering, installation / commissioning, overhaul & repair of process plant static & rotating equipment & machinery associated with Oil \ Gas \ Petrochemical industry. Should have exposure to Project management, Materials/Spare parts management, Contract management, Maintenance planning & scheduling etc.

Experience in computerized maintenance management systems (SAP) is mandatory.

Should be conversant with fire & safety aspects of hydrocarbon industry. Should be conversant with quality & environment management systems.

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree (B Tech / BSc Degree) in Mechanical Engineering discipline. Very Good command in spoken and written English.

Trouble shooting skills in hydrocarbon process plant static & rotating equipment.

Shall be Computer literate & be able to handle the basic PC soft wares.

Technical report writing skills. Leadership and motivational skills. Analytical skills related to technical problem solving.
