Job summary

Swan Global is seeking a skilled Radio Operator for an offshore Qatar assignment. You will ensure continuous, secure radio and data links between the rig, supply vessels, helicopters, and onshore teams, enabling safe, compliant operations.

You will monitor VHF/HF and satellite systems, take part in emergency coordination, maintain logs, perform basic equipment checks, and work a 35/35 offshore rotation with strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of offshore or maritime radio operator experience.
• GMDSS operations knowledge and protocols.
• Valid GMDSS Radio Operator License required.
• BOSIET/FOET with HUET mandatory for offshore Qatar.
• H2S Awareness and basic firefighting certification preferred.
• Excellent English communication; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor VHF, HF, and satellite communication systems for offshore operations.
• Relay messages between rig personnel, vessels, helicopters, and onshore control teams.
• Maintain 24/7 readiness of radio systems.
• Act as primary communication point during emergencies.
• Coordinate with the Qatar Coast Guard, support vessels, and aviation teams during critical situations.
• Maintain accurate records of transmissions and submit daily reports.
• Report equipment faults to maintenance teams and coordinate repairs.
• Ensure compliance with maritime, aviation, and company regulations.
