LNG Commercial/Economic Analyst
Qatar (Residential)
A high impact commercial opportunity supporting short-term LNG spot sales, diversions and value optimisation across QatarEnergy’s LNG portfolio. This role sits at the centre of commercial decision-making within a complex multi-venture environment.
The role
You will perform detailed economic and commercial analysis of short-term LNG opportunities, supporting pricing decisions, venture economics and shareholder value optimisation across the LNG value chain.
Key responsibilities
- Perform economic analysis of LNG spot sales and diversion opportunities
- Assess minimum pricing and venture economic impacts under varying market scenarios
- Support evaluation of proposed pricing or fiscal agreement changes
- Generate spot and short-term value uplift reporting for management and shareholders (including LNG Marketing Committee reporting)
- Analyse LNG market trends and competitor activity to support marketing strategy
- Coordinate updates to economic modelling assumptions with Commercial Analysis and Finance
- Contribute to peer reviews within Portfolio Analysis to ensure robustness and accuracy
- Monitor LNG and product pricing feeds to support system configuration and maintenance
- Support development of business systems, controls and documentation (EEBE / LNG Marketing Controls Calendar)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Science or Business
- 8+ years’ professional experience in analytical or marketing roles within hydrocarbonsMinimum 2 years’ exposure to LNG industry fundamentals
- Strong background in economic evaluation, financial modelling and reporting
- Working knowledge of LNG supply/demand dynamics and energy markets
- High proficiency in Excel and financial modelling tools
- Experience presenting to senior stakeholders and shareholders
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to operate under time pressure
