Sr. Economic Analyst – Planning & Performance
A senior analytical and strategic role within the Marketing directorate, supporting planning, performance assessment, governance and long-term strategy across petroleum, petrochemical and polymer markets.
Role
You will lead analytical, planning and performance activities within the Marketing function, supporting budgeting, market forecasting, governance and strategic investment initiatives. The position reports to the Head of Planning & Performance and plays a key role in Board-level reporting and cross-functional coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Support development of Marketing plans and strategies for petroleum, petrochemical and polymer products
- Deliver monthly, quarterly and annual performance assessments across Marketing, operations and logistics
- Interface with Producing Entities on growth initiatives, pricing trends and market developments
- Lead Board and management reporting requirements
- Support financial and budget planning processes within Marketing
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance, controls and risk mitigation (including audit participation)
- Contribute to long-term strategic investment reviews with Corporate functions
- Drive cross-functional improvement initiatives across Marketing and wider corporate teams
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering (preferably Chemical), Economics or Computational Science
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in technical or commercial roles within oil & gas, refining or petrochemicals
- Strong understanding of petroleum and petrochemical market dynamics and pricing trends
- Demonstrated capability in economic analysis, financial modelling and investment evaluation
- Leadership experience managing or guiding small teams
- Strong ownership mindset with ability to work independently
- Excellent presentation and reporting skills for senior management and Board audiences
- Middle East or major NOC experience preferred
