Job summary

Saba & Co. Intellectual Property in Doha, Qatar seeks an IP lawyer to support clients on intellectual property rights, including trademark oppositions, clearance work, and enforcement actions.

The role involves advisory work, drafting, coordination with customs and authorities, and collaboration with external counsel. Ideal candidates have 3-5 years’ IP experience, a Bachelor of Laws, and strong drafting and translation skills to prepare reports and client updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Laws degree or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of experience, preferably in IP or related area.

Responsibilities

• Assists clients with queries related to IP matters.
• Manages trademark opposition and counterstatement cases, including advice and defense preparation.
• Conducts trademark clearance work and drafts clearance reports.
• Handles IP enforcement matters, including customs recordals, investigations, and reporting to clients.
• Prepares and pursues administrative complaints for IP rights violations, coordinating with authorities.
• Coordinates with external lawyers for litigation and case management.
• Drafts IP-related agreements (licensing, franchising, assignment, JV).
• Drafts enforcement-related documents for IP disputes and enforcement proceedings.
• Prepares daily correspondence, reports, and legal updates for clients.
• Provides translation services for legal/IP documents as needed.
• Participates in IP rights training and client outreach about protection strategies.
• Prepares annual audit reports for clients on legal matters handled by the company.
