Job summary

Saba & Co. Intellectual Property in Doha seeks a lawyer to support IP matters for clients, handling trademark oppositions, clearance work, enforcement, and contract drafting. The candidate will liaise with clients and authorities, delivering advisory and reporting services.

The role requires a law degree and 3-5 years of IP experience, with readiness to manage cases and coordinate with external counsel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Laws degree or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of experience, preferably in intellectual property or related area.

Responsibilities

• Assists clients with queries related to IP matters.
• Manages trademark opposition and counterstatement cases, including assessment, advisory, drafting, and hearings.
• Conducts trademark clearance work, including searches, clearance reports, and advisories.
• Handles IP enforcement matters: customs recordals, anti-counterfeiting, investigations, and reporting to clients.
• Prepares and pursues administrative complaints related to IP violations; coordinates with customs and agencies.
• Coordinates with external lawyers for litigation and case management.
• Drafts and reviews IP-related agreements: licensing, franchising, assignment, and joint venture.
• Drafts enforcement-related documents in IP disputes and proceedings.
• Prepares daily correspondence, reports and legal updates for clients.
• Provides translation services for IP-related documents as needed.
• Participates in IP rights training and client outreach on protection strategies.
• Prepares annual audit reports for clients on legal matters.

Education
