Job summary

Accor’s Habitas property in the Middle East is seeking a Steward to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness in kitchen and back-of-house areas. You will support Culinary and F&B teams by keeping equipment and utensils clean, sanitized, and properly stored.

Role requires operating dishwashing machines, deep cleaning schedules, and adherence to HACCP and local health rules. Flexible shifts, physical fitness, and basic English are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Steward or Kitchen Steward in hotel, resort, or restaurant is preferred.
• Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene, sanitation, and food safety practices.
• Ability to operate dishwashing machines and cleaning equipment.
• Basic English communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods and performing manual cleaning tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation in all kitchen, food prep, and back-of-house areas.
• Clean, wash, and sanitize kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery, glassware, pots, pans, and equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness in kitchens, dishwashing areas, storage rooms, and back-of-house facilities.
• Operate dishwashing machines and cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure items are dried and stored properly for operational use.
• Perform deep cleaning of kitchen floors, walls, drains, exhaust areas, and equipment as scheduled.
• Support Culinary and Food & Beverage teams during daily operations, events, and functions.
• Ensure adequate availability of clean utensils, crockery, and equipment during service periods.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of kitchen equipment and banquet operations when required.
• Maintain organization of stewarding supplies and equipment.
• Report damaged, broken, or missing kitchen equipment to Stewarding Supervisor.
• Follow HACCP and local health regulations; proper waste segregation and disposal.
• Handle cleaning chemicals safely; wear PPE; report unsafe conditions and malfunctions.
• Maintain personal grooming and hygiene per resort policies.
