Job summary

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and equipment.
• Clean kitchen surfaces, floors, storage areas and waste bins.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Store clean equipment and supplies in designated locations.
• Assist with receiving, organizing, and replenishing kitchen supplies.
• Dispose of waste and maintain recycling where applicable.
• Report damaged equipment or low supplies to the supervisor.
• Support kitchen staff with basic tasks as needed.

Job description

We are seeking a reliable Kitchen Steward to help keep the kitchen clean, organized, and ready for daily operations. The successful candidate will support the kitchen team by maintaining hygiene standards, cleaning equipment and utensils, and assisting with basic kitchen duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Clean kitchen surfaces, floors, storage areas, and waste bins.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Store clean equipment and supplies in their designated locations.
• Assist with receiving, organizing, and replenishing kitchen supplies.
• Dispose of waste responsibly and maintain recycling procedures where applicable.
• Report damaged equipment, low supplies, or maintenance concerns to the supervisor.
• Support kitchen staff with basic tasks as needed.

Experience Required: Previous experience in a kitchen, cleaning, or stewarding role is an advantage.

Skills Required:

• Knowledge of basic kitchen hygiene and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift kitchen supplies safely.
