Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking a Fire Protection Supervisor to oversee the installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and readiness of fire protection and life safety systems.

The role ensures compliance with standards, client requirements, and HSE procedures, coordinating with multiple departments to manage safety matters and records.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Fire & Safety, or related discipline.
• Relevant fire protection certifications are an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in fire protection system installation, testing, maintenance or facilities management including supervisory experience.
• Strong practical knowledge of fire protection and life safety systems.
• Experience with commercial, industrial, residential, or large-scale facilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of fire protection technicians and maintenance personnel.
• Oversee inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire protection systems and equipment.
• Ensure fire alarm, detection, sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel, fire pump, and emergency systems are maintained.
• Conduct regular inspections and identify defects or hazards.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Monitor operation and testing of pumps, valves, hydrants, and related equipment.
• Ensure extinguishers and portable equipment are inspected and properly identified.
• Supervise contractors and service providers performing fire protection works.
• Review maintenance reports and testing records; keep accurate records.

Job Purpose

The Fire Protection Supervisor is responsible for supervising the installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and operational readiness of fire protection and life safety systems. The position ensures that fire protection systems, equipment, and related activities comply with applicable standards, client requirements, and company HSE procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily activities of fire protection technicians and maintenance personnel.

• Oversee the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire protection systems and equipment.

• Ensure fire alarm, fire detection, sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel, fire pump, fire suppression, and emergency systems are maintained in proper working condition.

• Conduct regular inspections of fire protection systems and identify defects, deficiencies, or potential hazards.

• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities and ensure timely completion.

• Monitor the operation and testing of fire pumps, jockey pumps, diesel/electric pumps, valves, sprinklers, hydrants, and associated equipment.

• Ensure fire extinguishers and other portable fire-fighting equipment are inspected, serviced, correctly located, and properly identified.

• Supervise contractors and specialist service providers carrying out fire protection works.

• Review maintenance reports, inspection checklists, testing records, and other relevant documentation.

• Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing, maintenance, defects, and corrective actions.

• Ensure all fire protection work is carried out safely and in accordance with approved procedures and permits.

• Coordinate with HSE, Facilities, Operations, Security, and other departments on fire and life safety matters.
