Job summary

Facilities Management and Maintenance is seeking an Engineer to lead a maintenance team responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance. The role includes directing Senior Technical Officers, ensuring timely handovers, and reporting faults to management.

• Degree in Engineering with maintenance management experience in a compatible facility.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the maintenance team to ensure preventive and corrective tasks are completed on time and to standard.
• Coordinate with Senior Technical Officers and Senior Engineers to plan and direct work.
• Monitor handovers, report faults, and prepare technical reports for management.
• Manage subcontractors, schedule visits, and supervise work to ensure quality and safety.
• Prepare documentation, permits to work, and approvals for authorities in line with HSEQ standards.
• Develop and implement MS, RA, COSHH, and ensure training is up to date for task execution.

Main Purpose

The main role of the Engineer is to manage their team and ensure preventive and corrective maintenance is completed and in a good manner, to help and support his team by giving direction to the Senior Technical Officers/Technical Officers and to support the improvement efforts in the department to increase the performance. Monitor proper handover of the works. Furthermore, to report any fault on the equipment to the Senior Engineer/Deputy Manager/Manager. The Engineers should have the ability of making technical reports.

Accountabilities

• Ensure the team is well performing the job assigned.
• Train the team on their maintenance tasks.
• Ensure the team has the correct knowledge of the assets/installation.
• Ensure PPM is performed correctly and on time.
• Ensure corrective tasks are completed on time.
• Deal with subcontractor, scheduling the visits and supervising the work assigned to them.
• Prepare needed documentation and produce permits to work and manage approvals from the authorities.
• Take care of the quality of his and his team works.
• Make reports on defects, issues, breakdowns, damages, etc.
• Follow and prepare the duty roster.
• Monitor spare parts levels, requirements and availability.
• Follow all instructions given by the SR. Engineers, Managers.
• Responsible for especial projects as assigned by their Line Manager.
• Liaise with customer mangers as assigned by their Line Manager.
• Prepare required documents for internal or external audit.
• Comply with health procedures, quality and in general all HSEQ standards.

Operational

• Escalate to their line manager any lack of proper equipment or tools for doing the work.
• Report any accident, incident, near miss or health event at work to their line manager.
• Develop and produce MS, RA and COSHH.
• Ensure that all the permits required are in place.
• Ensure that the employees working under them, are having the statutory training required for the task.
• Ensure that the employees working under them are aware of the MS/RA.
• Check that the control measures as per the MS/RA are implemented.
• Report any mistake or observation on MS/RA to HSEQ Department.
• Ensure that the employees have the proper PPE before starting the task
• Ensure that the employees have are using proper machines and tools for the task to be done.
• Comply with the Company standards.
• Cascade the toolboxes talk prepared by HSEQ Department.
• Ensure that the employees are understanding the content of the toolbox talk.
• Engineers must have solid technical knowledge and are expected to find resources for self-learning to deal with the day-by-day troubles.
• Engineers must be detail-oriented and must lead their teams in that direction.

Qualification

• Degree in Engineering 8 years of relevant maintenance management experience in a compatible facility.
