The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, based in Lisbon, seeks a Video Technician to join the Performances and Other Activities Support Team. You will install, configure and manage video and audiovisual systems for performances, events and broadcasts.

You will edit content, maintain networks, and collaborate across teams to ensure high-quality delivery in live and recorded formats.

Qualificações

  • Technical or higher education qualification in Multimedia, Audiovisuals, Image and Sound, Multimedia Engineering or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in similar roles.
  • Proven experience operating professional video systems in event, live performance, broadcast or audiovisual production environments.
  • Good command of technical and operational English.

Responsabilidades

  • Install, configure and operate video and audiovisual systems, including image capture, recording, playback, projection and processing for performances, events, exhibitions, conferences, broadcast productions and streaming.
  • Carry out editing and post-production tasks for audiovisual content.
  • Configure and manage networked audiovisual infrastructures, including protocols such as NDI and Dante.
  • Conduct testing, preventive maintenance and management of audiovisual equipment.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external entities in the preparation and delivery of events.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and technological development of the Foundation’s audiovisual solutions.

The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is a private institution whose fundamental purpose is to improve people’s quality of life through the arts, philanthropy, science and education. The Foundation carries out its activities from its headquarters in Lisbon and its offices in Paris and London.

The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is seeking to recruit a Video Technician to join the Performances and Other Activities Support Team, ensuring the installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of the audiovisual systems supporting the Foundation’s activities.

The role involves working across performances, concerts, conferences, exhibitions, institutional events and audiovisual productions, ensuring high standards of technical and operational quality.

Main Responsibilities
  • Install, configure and operate video and audiovisual systems, including image capture, recording, playback, projection and processing for performances, events, exhibitions, conferences, broadcast productions and streaming.
  • Carry out editing and post-production tasks for audiovisual content.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Desirable Technical Skills
  • Operation of production systems, switchers and broadcast systems in live event environments.
  • Knowledge of digital video, formats and codecs.
  • Post-production workflows and content delivery.
  • Professional video switchers, such as NewTek TriCaster, Blackmagic ATEM or equivalent systems.
  • BrightSign and Digital Signage platforms.
  • Professional Panasonic and Christie projection systems.
  • LED Walls and Novastar configuration.
  • Multimedia presentation and playback systems, such as QLab, Millumin, Mitti and Resolume.
  • IP network configuration and management.
  • NDI protocols.
  • Integration of networked audiovisual systems.
  • Operation of professional video cameras.
  • Operation of PTZ cameras in event, conference and streaming environments.
  • Knowledge of lighting for image capture.
  • Exposure control, white balance and colour management.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:

  • Experience working in cultural institutions, auditoriums or conference centres.
  • Experience in live performance and broadcast environments.
  • Knowledge of audiovisual automation and control systems.
  • Experience with streaming and digital broadcasting platforms.
  • Knowledge of network audio protocols, namely NDI and Dante, in integrated AV environments.
  • Relevant certifications in networking, audiovisual or broadcast technologies.
