A leading consulting firm is seeking a VAT Consultant in Porto. The role involves overseeing VAT compliance, providing advisory services, and mentoring junior members. Candidates should have over 5 years of VAT experience and strong knowledge of EU VAT rules. The position offers a permanent contract, flexible hours, and various employee benefits.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of VAT / indirect tax experience, preferably in a Big Four.
• Strong understanding of EU VAT rules and local VAT legislation.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Full English proficiency. Other languages will be valued in the recruitment process.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee VAT compliance and return submissions.
• Provide VAT advisory for international transactions.
• Mentor junior team members.
• Liaise with tax authorities in jurisdictions where clients have strategic transactions, managing information requests and audits on their behalf.
• Ensure all deliverables meet both statutory deadlines and agreed client timelines.
• Mentor junior team members and review their work.
• Contribute to the team’s productivity, motivation, and cooperation through clear communication and support.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and technology-driven enhancements in VAT compliance workflows, including the use of digital platforms.

How You’ll Contribute

• Oversee VAT compliance and return submissions for complex clients.

Is this You?

• 5+ years of VAT / indirect tax experience, preferably in a Big Four or leading professional services firm. Experience with E-invoicing and E-reporting projects is highly valued.
• Strong understanding of EU VAT rules, cross-border transactions, and local VAT legislation.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Full English proficiency. Other languages will be valued in the recruitment process.
