Hexa seeks a Techno-Functional QA Engineer to support QA activities for critical trading and market applications within the financial market infrastructure sector in Porto. This hybrid role collaborates across technical, functional and delivery teams.

You will define test strategies, execute manual and automated testing, validate releases and defects, and contribute to AI-assisted QA practices while mentoring colleagues. Fluency in English and Portuguese is expected.

Qualificações

• 3–5 years in software testing, QA or related technical role.
• Solid functional understanding with strong technical foundations.
• Experience in structured delivery environments with increasing autonomy.
• Ability to analyze defects and communicate findings clearly.
• Financial market awareness and experience with banking, brokerage or capital markets systems.
• Proficient in English (minimum B2) and able to communicate in Portuguese.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Techno-Functional QA Engineer to support quality assurance activities for critical trading and market applications within the financial market infrastructure sector. This is a hybrid opportunity based in Porto, with close collaboration across technical, functional and delivery teams.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• - Define and execute test strategies for standalone, functional, backend and API testing activities.
• - Establish test objectives, scope, acceptance criteria and risk-based test priorities.
• - Validate application behavior, business flows, regression coverage and release readiness.
• - Execute manual and automated tests, ensuring clear traceability across testing activities.
• - Reproduce, analyze, document and track defects from identification through resolution.
• - Collaborate with developers, business analysts, project managers and QA colleagues to investigate issues and validate fixes.
• - Report progress, risks, coverage and test results in a structured and transparent way.
• - Contribute to test automation coverage, tooling optimization and continuous improvement of QA practices.
• - Use AI-assisted tools to support test design, test case generation, defect analysis, documentation, reporting and automation development, applying appropriate validation and professional judgement.
• - Share knowledge and support less experienced colleagues when appropriate.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• - 3 to 5 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance or a related technical role.
• - Solid functional understanding combined with good technical foundations.
• - Experience working in structured delivery environments with increasing autonomy.
• - Ability to analyze defects, communicate findings clearly and support reliable delivery.
• - Financial market awareness and experience with banking, brokerage or capital markets systems.
• - Professional working proficiency in English, at least B2 level, and ability to communicate in Portuguese.
