Job summary

BNP Paribas Portugal is seeking a Technician Application Support to provide application support within Securities Services for Payment Processing under HVP. You will assist the business with IT needs, understand workflows, and maintain shift coverage in a hybrid working environment.

The role requires a Bachelor in IT or CS, at least 3 years IT experience, advanced English, and knowledge of scripting, networks, Windows/Linux, SQL, and Ansible/DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Support the business in IT needs and understand workflows and scenarios.

• Shadow colleagues to learn and improve day-to-day coverage of platforms.
• Share knowledge and document issues/incidents for follow-up.
• Write scripts and automate routine tasks.
• Understand issues and associated patches/releases; identify systemic issues.
• Be available to work during holidays/weekends as per rotation.

About The Job

• The Technician Application Support’s mission is to provide application support within the Securities Services area for Payment Processing under HVP

Your Main Activities Are

• Support the business in their IT needs and understand the business workflows and scenarios
• Maintaining proper coverage in their designated shift
• Voluntarily picking up work and tasks as received over email, tickets or in person
• Provide business, team members and other project/task partnering teams’ updates on the issue/task/project
• Documenting and training other team members
• Shadow other team members and seek to learn to improve day-to-day coverage of the platforms
• Sharing knowledge within the team as well documenting the issues/incidents for better follow-up
• Improving day-to-day tasks by writing scripts and automating tasks that are procedure oriented
• Understand the underlying issue and the associated patch fix/release and identify systemic issues
• Availability to work during Holidays / Weekends as per pre-defined needs and on a rotational basis with the rest of the team

Profile and Skills to Success

• Bachelor Degree in Information Technology and Computer Science or related
• At least 3 years of experience in Information Technology or similar
• Advanced level of English, both written and oral
• Knowledge in scripting languages, network, Windows and Linux environments; SQL and Ansible / DevOps
