Job summary

Shakers is hiring a Developer / Tech Lead to drive the automation agenda of the network security team within a leading European technology group. Despite the title, this is primarily a software development role.

You will build advanced integrations against APIs of network and security appliances, develop automation solutions on a Python and Django stack, and define testing methodologies and coding standards. The position is full-time with hybrid work, 2–3 days on site in Porto or Lisbon.

Qualifications

• 7–8 years of software development experience.
• Strong Python development with Django experience.
• Experience integrating complex APIs.
• Solid networking and security fundamentals.
• Commitment to code quality, automated testing and CI.
• Professional English proficiency.

What you will do

• Lead the team's development and automation initiatives from a technical standpoint.
• Build advanced integrations against the APIs of network and security appliances, such as NSX and Fortinet.
• Develop automation solutions and internal portals on a Python and Django stack.
• Define structured testing methodologies and set development guidelines and best practices.
• Push the operational baseline progressively towards automation.

What you need

• 7 to 8 years of experience or more.
• Strong software development background with solid command of Python. Experience with the Django framework is essential.
• Excellent ability to handle and integrate complex APIs.
• Solid networking and security fundamentals, enough to translate business requirements into code.
• A mindset focused on code quality, automated testing and continuous improvement.
• Professional English.

Nice to have

• Previous experience automating solutions such as VMware NSX, firewalls or proxies.
• French.

Full time, long term. Hybrid, 2 to 3 days per week on site, Porto or Lisbon.
