Job summary

HiddenLayer, Inc. is seeking a senior engineering leader in Lisbon to drive the GRC engine development for regulatory compliance in AI systems. You will bridge architecture, implementation, and technical direction while mentoring the R&D team.

You will shape how EU AI Act obligations are modeled, implemented, and tested, building scalable cloud services and responsible governance workflows. Remote-friendly, Lisbon-based leadership opportunities await.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience delivering production systems and making architecture decisions across complex domains.
Strong foundations in Python and Golang with cloud, distributed systems, APIs, and data modeling.
Ability to turn evolving requirements into clear technical models and reliable workflows.
Interest in AI, cybersecurity, governance, risk, and regulation with policy-vs-implementation judgment.
Hands-on leader who writes production code, reviews designs, and mentors engineers.

Responsibilities

Define architecture for EU AI Act Compliance Engine within HiddenLayer’s GRC module, including services, data models, APIs, and workflows.
Design a regulation-as-data approach with versioned, testable, explainable rules engine.
Build automated obligation and risk-tier mappings for AI systems (prohibited to minimal-risk).
Create conform-ity assessment workflows guiding governance teams on obligations and evidence.
Develop secure, reliable cloud-native services using Python and related technologies.
Establish testing, CI/CD, code review, observability, and secure SDLC practices.
