Job summary

Aubay Portugal, part of an international group, seeks a skilled backend/Full-Stack developer to join a Scrum team in Lisbon. You will design and implement backend services in Scala/Play and Java, with React/Angular frontend, write tests, review code, and contribute to CI/CD with Kubernetes and Docker.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven professional experience in Java or Scala backend development.
• Relational databases (SQL), Git, GitLab CI, Kubernetes, and Docker for robust deployment.

• Design maintainable, secure, and testable solutions with production readiness.
• Experience in Agile Scrum environments and active contribution to ceremonies.

What will you do?

• Analyse business needs and technical constraints, refine User Stories, and contribute to effort estimation within an Agile Scrum team.
• Design and develop maintainable, secure, and testable solutions, including backend services in Scala/Play and Java, and frontend components in React or Angular.
• Write unit and integration tests, perform code reviews, and ensure compliance with quality gates for production-ready code.
• Investigate defects and production incidents, identify root causes, and deliver sustainable corrective actions.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, containerised deployments using Kubernetes and Docker, and application observability.
• Maintain technical documentation and actively share knowledge within the distributed team across Portugal and France.
