Job summary

Decskill, part of the Astek Group, invites a SRE & Cloud Specialist to join the Lisbon IT operations team. You will provide production support for banking-oriented data platform applications, manage incidents, and participate in a 24/7 on-call cycle while driving automation and reliability.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in IT Operations or Software Engineering.
• At least 2 years hands-on experience with a cloud provider (e.g., AWS/Azure/Google Cloud).
• At least 2 years hands-on experience with Ansible and Docker.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, CLI, and shell scripting; Python and/or Bash.
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker in cloud environments.
• Good understanding of CI tools like Jenkins, Travis CI, or Concourse.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills; L1/L2 banking support experience; ITIL knowledge.
• Ability to work in an international environment and communicate clearly with technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide production support for banking IT data platform applications and tools.
• Handle incidents, service requests, and application support activities with adherence to SLAs.
• Participate in 24/7 production support, including shifts and on-call rotations.
• Analyse system logs to identify and troubleshoot issues; monitor service performance.
• Contribute to DR readiness, live-play activities, and knowledge transfer sessions.
• Build and maintain Ansible playbooks and Terraform scripts for provisioning and deployment.
• Support and train other operations team members in Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with development teams and APS colleagues to maintain a stable production environment.

SRE & Cloud Specialist!

Responsibilities:

• Provide application production support for IT data platform applications and tools in a banking environment.
• Handle incidents, service requests, and application support activities, ensuring compliance with service-level objectives.
• Participate in a 24/7 production support team, including shifts, on-call rotations, weekends, and public holidays.
• Analyse system, middleware, and application logs to identify and troubleshoot potential issues.
• Monitor service performance, prepare reports, and contribute to the continuous improvement of service quality and availability.
• Participate in disaster recovery (DR) and live-play activities.
• Review and create application support knowledge articles.
• Participate in and validate knowledge transfer sessions delivered by application development teams regarding application changes.
• Build and maintain Ansible playbooks and Terraform scripts to automate provisioning, configuration, and deployments.
• Support and train other operations team members in Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Escalate risks, incidents, and management issues to the relevant divisional lead in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with application development teams and global APS colleagues to maintain a stable production environment.
• Contribute to risk mitigation through production-readiness checks, robust monitoring, and compliance with operational requirements.
• Support operational efficiency through automation, continuous improvement, and effective knowledge transfer.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in IT Operations or Software Engineering.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with a cloud provider, such as IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Ansible and Docker.
• Strong knowledge of Linux platforms, command-line interfaces (CLI), and shell scripting.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language, preferably Python and/or Bash.
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Experience with public cloud environments and technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
• Good understanding of Continuous Integration tools and processes, such as Jenkins, Travis CI, or Concourse.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Experience with L1/L2 support in a banking environment and a good understanding of core banking operations.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, international environment and communicate clearly with technical teams and stakeholders.

Certifications:

• Red Hat Enterprise Linux Automation with Ansible (RH294).
• Developing Advanced Automation with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (DO374).

Nice to have:

• HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate (003).
• HashiCorp Certified: Vault Associate (002).
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace.
• Experience with PL/SQL.
