Intermedia is seeking a Senior Java Developer to contribute to the IP phone configuration server. You will collaborate with Product Owners, Development and QA leads, delivering changes for new phone models and complex VoIP configurations.

The role emphasizes analytical problem solving, OOP coding standards, and ongoing learning in telecommunications and provisioning technologies. Primarily remote with weekly Coimbra office visits.

Qualificações

• A degree or relevant technical education in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience with server-side development in Java.
• Linux server development experience, including Nginx, Tomcat, and command-line tools.
• Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL or Percona.
• Basic knowledge of VoIP, SIP, and IP networking.
• Basic knowledge of network programming, including sockets and TCP/UDP.
• Basic understanding of IP security principles, including TLS and certificate management.
• Experience using Wireshark or tcpdump for network analysis and troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of IP phones, endpoint devices, device configuration, and provisioning mechanisms is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze phone configuration documentation and create integration specifications aligned with Intermedia’s Call Server requirements.
• Lead the implementation and validation of changes to support new and updated phone models.
• Investigate complex issues involving VoIP, SIP, networking, endpoint devices, and device configuration.
• Create and maintain technical configuration guides for Development, QA, and Support teams.
• Implement analytics and usage metrics, and perform profiling and performance optimization of the phone provisioning server.
• Develop and maintain high-quality, maintainable code following Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
• Provide technical guidance and contribute to development and testing best practices.
• Continuously develop technical knowledge of VoIP technologies, endpoint devices, and provisioning mechanisms.

About the Role
