Affinity, a Portuguese technology consulting company with offices in Lisbon, Porto and Óbidos, is seeking a Senior SQL Server DBA. The role focuses on performance and query optimization in high-volume OLTP environments, ensuring availability and reliability across multiple projects.

You will join a team delivering solutions onsite, remotely or in hybrid models, and benefit from a personalized career and training plan as part of our Lifetime Experience initiative.

Qualificações

• SQL Server / DB Administration with strong performance focus.
• Hands-on with SQL/T-SQL, query tuning and DML.
• In-depth SQL Server internals: execution plans, indexing.
• Performance monitoring using Query Store/Extended Events.
• High-volume OLTP experience with emphasis on availability and reliability.
• Ability to analyze and optimize database performance in mission-critical environments.
• DB design and performance optimization beyond isolated tuning.

What we’re looking for:

• Professional experience in SQL Server / Database Administration, with a strong focus on performance and query optimization
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL and T-SQL, including query tuning and DML operations
• Solid knowledge of SQL Server internals, namely execution plans, query optimizer, statistics and indexing
• Experience with performance monitoring and troubleshooting, ideally using Query Store and Extended Events
• Experience in high-volume OLTP environments, where performance, availability and reliability are critical
• Strong ability to analyse and optimize database performance in mission-critical environments
• Experience with database design and performance optimization, beyond isolated query tuning
• Senior or Expert level, with a practical and problem-solving mindset
