Capgemini Engineering in Lisbon is seeking a SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join a team responsible for the operation, maintenance, and management of critical information systems, focusing on availability and performance in complex enterprise infrastructures.

Key responsibilities include administering Microsoft SQL Server databases (System & Application), monitoring and tuning performance, and managing backups with Veritas NetBackup and Commvault.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Microsoft SQL Server administration.
• Knowledge of AlwaysOn Availability Groups, SQL Server Clustering and Replication.
• Proven ability to analyze and tune database performance.
• Experience with backup and recovery management (Veritas NetBackup, Commvault).
• Familiarity with Windows Server and Linux environments.

The role focuses on ensuring the availability, performance, and reliability of SQL Server database environments within complex enterprise infrastructures.

Key responsibilities include:

• Administering Microsoft SQL Server databases (System & Application);
• Managing and supporting highly complex and business-critical environments;
• Monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing database performance;
• Performing performance tuning and identifying improvement opportunities;
• Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving operational issues;
• Managing SQL Server backup and recovery processes using Veritas NetBackup and Commvault;
• Supporting high-availability and disaster recovery architectures;
• Providing operational support for production environments with critical service requirements;
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to maintain and enhance database platforms.

YOUR PROFILE

Required Technical Skills

• Strong experience in Microsoft SQL Server administration;
• Solid knowledge of complex database architectures, including:
  • AlwaysOn Availability Groups;
  • SQL Server Clustering;
  • Replication;
• Proven experience in database performance analysis and tuning;
• Good knowledge of T-SQL;
• Experience with backup and recovery management;
• Knowledge of the following operating systems:
  • Windows Server, Linux

Nice to Have

• Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments;
• Background in supporting mission‑critical production systems;
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in high‑demand operational environments.
