Job summary

HN Services Portugal is seeking an experienced Test Lead in Lisbon to drive testing strategy and coordinate testing activities for business-critical applications.

You will work closely with development teams, business analysts, project managers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions and ensure release readiness. Fluency in English is required, and experience across functional, integration, and end-to-end testing is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in software testing, including lead or senior QA roles.

• Experience with test planning, estimation, execution and defect management.
• Familiarity with test management tools (Jira, Xray, Zephyr) and collaboration tools (Confluence).

• Excellent communication, with technical and business teams.
• Fluency in English.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Test Lead to join our team in Lisbon and lead testing activities for business-critical applications.

In this role, you will be responsible for defining the testing strategy, coordinating testing activities, ensuring software quality and working closely with development teams, business analysts, project managers and other stakeholders to deliver reliable and high‑quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement test strategies, test plans and testing approaches aligned with project objectives.
• Lead and coordinate testing activities across functional, integration, regression and end‑to‑end testing.
• Manage test planning, execution, defect tracking and reporting throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Coordinate testing teams, allocate tasks and monitor progress against project milestones.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Ensure effective defect management, including prioritization, root cause analysis and resolution follow‑up.
• Identify testing risks, dependencies and quality issues, proposing mitigation plans where necessary.
• Define and monitor key testing metrics, such as test coverage, defect density and execution progress.
• Promote continuous improvement in testing processes, methodologies and tools.
• Support release readiness assessments and provide clear quality status reports to project stakeholders.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in software testing, with previous experience in a Test Lead or Senior QA role.
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, test management and quality assurance practices.
• Experience in functional, integration, regression and end‑to‑end testing.
• Experience with test planning, test estimation, test execution and defect management.
• Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools, such as Jira, Xray or Zephyr, and collaboration tools such as Confluence.
• Experience with SQL.
• Ability to lead testing teams and coordinate activities across multiple stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business teams.
• Fluency in English.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the banking, financial services or consumer finance sector.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies, Scrum and Kanban.
• Familiarity with Squash TM test management tool.
