Job summary

CTS Group is seeking a Primary Design Engineer to lead the electrical design of AIS and GIS substations and MV distribution for data centres and industrial clients in Scandinavia.

You will work on substation layout, equipment arrangement, busbar configuration, and integration with secondary protection, automation, and SCADA systems. Proficiency in PRIMTECH and Revit is required, with coordination across civil and structural partners. Based in Lisbon or Porto, Portugal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in primary substation design.
• Experience with AIS and/or GIS substation layout design.
• Experience coordinating with civil and structural disciplines.
• Experience in data center or industrial electrical infrastructure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop physical layout designs for AIS high-voltage substations.
• Design busbar configurations, equipment spacing, and clearance management.
• Prepare primary equipment arrangement drawings and general arrangement plans.
• Coordinate with civil and structural engineering partners for foundations, structures, and buildings.
• Coordinate primary design with all engineering disciplines and external partners.
• Prepare and maintain primary design documentation for construction handover.
