Job summary
Mindera is seeking a Java Fullstack Developer to join our team in Portugal. You will own delivery end-to-end, mentor developers, and drive architectural decisions while delivering robust, scalable software.
You’ll work across Java/Kotlin, TypeScript, React/Next.js, and cloud environments, embracing agile practices and embracing experimentation with AI tools where appropriate.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Java/Kotlin development.
- Experience with TypeScript, React/Next.js, and modern web frameworks (Spring/Micronaut).
- Knowledge of Microservices, REST, GraphQL, and API patterns.
- Strong cloud experience (Azure or AWS) and DevOps tooling.
Responsibilities
- Involved in all areas of delivery, mentoring and inspiring the team.
- Own code from development through deployment and maintenance.
- Diagnose production issues and devise robust fixes.
- Contribute to systems design and architectural decisions.
- Challenge requirements to ensure best outcomes for the business.
- Adopt and advocate new technologies to deliver business value.
- Help shape the technology roadmap and maintain quality online services.
- Conduct technical interviews for positions in your area of expertise.

- Being involved in all areas of delivery, with the technical gravitas to mentor and inspire the development team, helping your team improve by sharing your own knowledge, experience, and insights;
- Taking ownership of your code every step of the way - from development to deployment and maintenance;
- Diagnosing issues in production and devising solutions for them;
- Being an integral part of solutions design and implementation;
- Challenging business requirements, to ensure you are continuously delivering the best possible outcome;
- Harnessing innovation and driving adoption of new technologies to deliver business value;
- Contributing to shaping our online technology roadmap, influencing our future technical direction, and balancing passion with precision to deliver exceptional online service and solutions for our customers;
- Conducting technical interviews for positions within your area of expertise.
- Minimum 7 years of experience with Java/Kotlin programming language, including latest versions;
- Experience with Typescript;
- Experience with React / Nextjs;
- Experience in any of the popular web frameworks like Spring (boot, cloud, data flow) or Micronaut;
- Knowledge of architectural styles: Microservices, Web services, SOA and API Protocols: GraphQL Federation, REST API;
- API management with Apigee
- Experience in monitoring & observability: OpenTelemetry, Dynatrace, other Observability tools;
- Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and test-driven development;
- Cloud technology experience: Azure or AWS Cloud, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Github Actions;
- Experience in working with databases: MongoDB, MySQL;
- Experience working with Application Lifecycle Management Tools: JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, NexusPro (or) similar;
- Working practices: Knowledge and experience of agile frameworks and practices: Scrum/Kanban, user stories, BDD/TDD, DevOps, Continuous Integration & Delivery, Pair Programming etc;
- Proficiency in applying design patterns effectively to develop scalable and maintainable solutions;
- Fluency in English;
- Mandatory to be located in Portugal
- Background in e-commerce/retail would be appreciated;
