Mindera seeks a Senior Java Developer with Shopify experience to join our team. You will mentor the development team and own code quality from development to deployment, solving complex problems and delivering world-class user interactions.

We value lean, self-organising teams and encourage AI-assisted coding with transparency. Remote work from Portugal is possible, with offices in Porto and other hubs.

• Being involved in all areas of delivery, with the technical gravitas to mentor and inspire the development team, helping your team improve by sharing your own knowledge, experience, and insights;
• Taking ownership of your code every step of the way - from development to deployment and maintenance;
• Diagnosing issues in production and devising solutions for them;
• Being an integral part of solutions design and implementation;
• Challenging business requirements, to ensure you are continuously delivering the best possible outcome;
• Harnessing innovation and driving adoption of new technologies to deliver business value;
• Contributing to shaping our online technology roadmap, influencing our future technical direction, and balancing passion with precision to deliver exceptional online service and solutions for our customers;
• Conducting technical interviews for positions within your area of expertise.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Strong experience as a Senior Java Developer, with solid knowledge of backend development and experience working on complex, production-level systems.
• Proven hands-on experience running, maintaining, and troubleshooting Shopify integrations in a production environment.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Spring Boot, including developing and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs.
• Solid hands‑on experience with GraphQL, including designing, developing, and maintaining GraphQL APIs.
• Strong hands‑on experience with AWS, ideally including services such as DynamoDB and solutions for secrets management.
• Experience with Kafka or similar event-streaming technologies, ideally in systems where asynchronous communication and event-driven architectures are used.
• Experience with OpenTelemetry and observability practices, including monitoring and tracing distributed applications.
• Fluency in English;
• Mandatory to be located in Portugal;

Availability to work 08:00 - 17:00 CET.
