Visa Hunt in Portugal is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join the Billing team and help scale a high‑volume platform. You will participate in building critical services, ensure performance and resilience, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams across borders.

Ideal candidates will have solid RESTful API experience in Java/Kotlin with Spring, plus cloud native skills (AWS, Kubernetes) and strong data handling with relational and NoSQL databases.

Qualificações

• Solid experience with RESTful APIs written in Java/Kotlin + Spring
• Asynchronous processing and data pipelines
• Software Architecture knowledge: Event driven architectures and Serverless
• Cloud computing (AWS) and Cloud Native (K8s) experience
• Software quality and test automation mindset
• Experience with SQL technologies (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server) and NoSQL like DynamoDB
• Experience with microservices and high volume distributed systems
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are hiring a Senior Backend Software Engineer in our Billing team in Portugal!

Responsible for the platform that serves the entire Wellhub business, processing millions of transactions for users and companies around the globe. We work closely with cross functional teams and payment service providers to deliver optimum checkout conversion rates and also efficient account management interactions.

We are creating a new architecture and set of systems that will guarantee consistency across multiple areas and services.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer, with a solid history of quality projects delivered, hands‑on technical work, willing to work with a team of ~8 mid‑level, senior and staff software engineers working from Brazil and Portugal.
