We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer – Java & Financial Data (Porto)

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join an international IT environment, working on the evolution of an application dedicated to the management of financial statements referential data. The application integrates external public and market-data providers and supports data capture from non-structured documents, with a strong focus on data quality, consistency and efficient data exposure.

The role is primarily focused on backend development and technical architecture, with strong expertise in Java, Spring, APIs, Cloud, CI/CD and microservices. You will work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders and end-users throughout the development and validation lifecycle.

Professional Experience & Main Tasks

• Design, develop, secure and scale backend architectures.
• Develop robust and scalable solutions using Java 21 and Spring Framework.
• Design and implement REST APIs and data exposure solutions.
• Integrate external third-party data providers and data sources.
• Contribute to ensuring data quality, consistency and governance across different referential sources.
• Industrialize solutions according to CI/CD and DevOps best practices.
• Apply strong software engineering practices, including microservices, unit testing, version control and code quality.
• Participate in the validation and testing phases with end-users.
• Contribute to the technical design and evolution of the application architecture.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and contribute to performance, scalability and reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with Agile teams and stakeholders throughout the full software development lifecycle.
• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer / Senior Java Developer.
• Strong expertise in Java 21 – mandatory.
• Deep knowledge of Spring Framework / Spring Boot.
• Advanced SQL, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Strong knowledge of microservices, REST APIs, unit testing, version control and CI/CD.
• Experience with Cloud environments, such as AWS or IBM Cloud.
• Strong knowledge of Docker and containerization.
• Solid understanding of software architecture and good programming practices.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence or ALM.
• Experience with third-party data, data governance and/or data management is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously in a complex technical environment.
