AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to define an agentic-first approach. You will design agentic workflows using Java, Spring Boot, React, and AI orchestration patterns, ensuring secure, reliable systems for enterprise customers.

You will mentor engineers, build end-to-end agentic products, and collaborate with leadership to align capabilities with meaningful outcomes. Hybrid work options are available in Portugal and beyond.

Qualificações

• 5+ years in a software product development environment.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and React.
• Proficiency in Relational Databases.
• Hands-on experience with AI agents, tool-using LLM apps, or orchestrated workflows.
• Experience with multi-agent systems, RAG, vector search, agent evaluation, or human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Ability to guide AI coding agents as productive engineering collaborators.
• Ability to provide agents with context, constraints, architecture, and criteria.
• Strong focus on testing, observability, security, permissions and recovery.
• Ability to decompose complex work into agent-ready tasks.

Responsabilidades

• Design and build agentic workflows coordinating tools, services, data and approvals.
• Develop reusable patterns for agent orchestration and context management.
• Use agentic coding tools across planning, implementation, testing, debugging, review and docs.
• Integrate agents into development, testing, deployment, support and operations.
• Establish standards for agent evaluation, observability, reliability, security and governance.
• Prototype new agentic capabilities and productionize successful experiments.
• Build complete, usable products beyond demos or isolated models.
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity and product delivery.
• Mentor engineers and shape an agentic-first strategy.
• Collaborate with product/engineering leaders to connect capabilities to outcomes.
• Design agentic apps around user needs with robust UX, permissions, audit trails, and error handling.
• Move agentic solutions from prototype to production considering performance, scale, security and cost.
