Job summary

Nordea Asset Management in Portugal seeks a Senior Operational Analyst in Settlement to own securities settlement outcomes across Equity, Fixed Income and Repos. You will work with custodians, brokers and internal stakeholders to resolve fails and drive improvements.

You will contribute to automating workflows, reducing manual tasks and increasing straight-through processing, while growing into broader post-trade ownership and data responsibility.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in financial industry operations with hands-on settlement knowledge.
• Proficient in data analysis, process improvement and automation initiatives.
• Proficient written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Act as expert and escalation point for complex settlement fails, exceptions and market issues (Equity & Bonds).
• Analyze settlement data, fail patterns and process performance to identify trends, risks and automation opportunities.
• Help design, test and implement automated and AI-enabled solutions with clear use cases and acceptance criteria.
• Supervise and validate automated outputs to ensure quality, control and regulatory compliance.
• Drive change through rollout planning, stakeholder engagement and adoption support.
• Document processes, controls and decisions for reusable, machine-readable knowledge.
• Share knowledge and coach colleagues in analytical thinking and improvement.
• Participate in stakeholder meetings across Operations, Technology and Business.
