Job summary

Stefanini EMEA is seeking a Senior SAP ABAP Consultant with strong MM and S/4HANA experience to join a European retail e-commerce client on a long-term remote engagement.

You will develop and optimize SAP ABAP OO solutions, extend with RAP and CAP, and contribute to cloud extensions on SAP BTP. Excellent communication in English and mentorship of juniors are valued at Stefanini.

Qualifications

• Six+ years of ABAP in S/4HANA
• Strong MM knowledge in retail environments
• Exposure to ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) or CAP is a plus

• Mentor juniors and present on emerging technologies (e.g., MCP).
• Evaluate automation opportunities, Business AI and Joule integrations.

Job description

Stefanini is hiring Senior SAP ABAP Consultants, with retail projects experience, to join the team of one of our clients (European retail e-commerce platform).

This is a remote role, with long term duration.

Responsibilities:

• Enhance retail applications: Maintain and improve complex applications in the fast-paced retail domain, applying deep SAP Materials Management (MM) expertise to optimize core operations.
• Deliver full-stack development: Develop, test, and debug complex solutions using ABAP Cloud (RAP) and SAP CAP (Node.js) across the client's S/4HANA landscape and BTP extensions.
• Implement cloud extensions: Design and build cloud-native extensions and integrations using the SAP BTP Integration Suite, including CPI, API Management, Event Mesh, and Workzone.
• Uphold Clean Core principles: Protect the integrity of the core system by developing side-by-side extensions on the SAP BTP Cloud Foundry runtime environment.
• Promote technical excellence and mentorship: Provide technical guidance to junior team members and deliver internal presentations on emerging technologies, such as the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Evaluate emerging automation opportunities: Assess and implement Business AI scenarios and Joule integrations to support process automation, while staying engaged with modern ERP trends.

Requirements:

• Modern ABAP expertise: At least six years of current, relevant experience developing complex SAP applications in an S/4HANA environment, with strong technical skills in Object-Oriented ABAP, OData services, and Core Data Services (CDS) views.
• Strong MM knowledge: Proven hands-on technical experience with SAP Materials Management (MM) and a solid understanding of its integration within a large-scale retail environment.
• Interest in modern SAP extensions: A strong ABAP foundation and willingness to work with modern development paradigms. Hands-on experience with the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), SAP Fiori, Application Interface Framework (AIF), or the Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP) is an advantage.
• Adaptable problem-solving approach: A practical, hands-on working style, flexibility in response to changing requirements, and a strong commitment to learning new skills.
• Clear communication: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to team members and cross-functional stakeholders.
