We are looking for a Senior QA GenAI Engineer to join our team and play a key role in integrating quality assurance practices with cutting-edge Generative AI solutions.
In this role, you will contribute to the development of intelligent systems that enhance the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including AI-driven automation, testing strategies, and application modernization. You will work in a hybrid setup, collaborating closely with engineering teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and quality across distributed systems.
The role is hybrid, requiring presence 3 times per week in Lisbon.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement test strategies, test cases, and quality assurance processes for complex systems.
- Ensure quality across microservices and distributed architectures.
- Use tools such as Postman and SOAP UI for API testing and validation.
- Promote best practices in QA, automation, and continuous testing.
- Develop and implement AI agents to support application modernization and technology migration.
- Build intelligent capabilities to optimize different phases of the SDLC, including testing and validation.
- Work with LLMs and associated protocols (e.g., MCP) to enhance system capabilities.
- Design and implement solutions using RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) and embedding techniques.
- Develop microservices and APIs to expose AI-driven capabilities.
- Collaborate on backend systems using .NET (preferred) or Java.
- Ensure services are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with modern architectural practices.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, and QA engineers.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on quality, automation, and innovation.
- Take ownership of deliverables, working autonomously with a strong results-oriented mindset.
Requirements
- Strong experience in .NET (preferred) or Java.
- Proven experience working with microservices and distributed systems.
- Solid background in QA practices, including test design, execution, and strategy.
- Hands-on experience with QA tools such as Postman or SOAP UI.
- Practical experience working with LLMs and related protocols (e.g., MCP).
- Experience with RAG architectures and embedding techniques.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work autonomously, with a responsible and results-driven mindset.
Nice-to-have
- Experience with event-driven architectures (EDA) and event brokers such as Kafka.
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as gRPC, SOAP, and JSON-RPC.
- Knowledge of API security practices, including OAuth2, JWT, and zero-trust principles.
- Experience with observability tools and standards such as OpenTelemetry.
- Background in high-availability systems.
