ITDS Portugal, based in Porto, is seeking a Senior Payments QA Engineer to help test banking and monétique payment systems. The role combines hands-on QA with requirement analysis and UAT leadership in a hybrid work model (up to 2 remote days per week).

You will work across the full testing lifecycle, from drafting functional specs to logging production issues, using Jira and Xray to maintain traceability and reporting quality metrics across projects.

Qualificações

• 7+ years in QA testing within banking, payments, or monétique systems.
• Proficient with Jira & Xray for test management and traceability.
• Experience drafting test plans, executing UAT, and analyzing functional specifications.
• Fluent English and French at B2 level for daily collaboration with local teams.
• Certifications in testing or QA methodologies are a plus.

As a Senior Payments QA Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading banking and payment solutions provider. In this role, you will support the development and testing of payment systems, ensuring high-quality delivery across the full testing lifecycle—from analyzing business requirements and drafting functional specifications to leading user acceptance testing (UAT) and investigating production anomalies. Your expertise will help drive seamless payment experiences and innovate within the financial industry.

Your main responsibilities:

• Study business needs, draft functional requirements, and contribute to pre-project scoping to align testing strategies with project goals
• Engage actively in functional workshops with business teams to refine solutions and ensure clarity
• Design and execute UAT test plans, validating deliverables against functional specifications and business expectations
• Identify, log, analyze, and track production anomalies and testing gaps, ensuring swift resolution
• Manage test campaigns, execution, and traceability using Jira / Xray to maintain comprehensive testing documentation

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• At least 7 years of experience in applicative homologation and QA testing within banking, payments, or monétique systems
• Proficiency in Jira and Xray for test management and traceability
• Strong experience in drafting test plans, executing UAT, and analyzing functional specifications
• Fluent English and B2-level (minimum) French for daily collaboration with French-speaking business units
• Excellent communication skills and an analytical mindset, comfortable leading functional workshops

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Certifications in testing or quality assurance methodologies
• Experience with banking or payment industry standards and regulations

Language Required for the role:

• Fluent English (speaking, reading, writing)
• French (minimum B2 level) for effective communication with local teams
