emagine - Portugal seeks a Senior QA Engineer with expertise in Payments and Banking Operations to own end-to-end testing in an international Core Banking environment. Hybrid work in Lisbon, coordinating with analysts, developers, and offshore teams to ensure solid releases.

You will design test strategies, execute end-to-end tests, lead UAT, and drive defect resolution across SEPA, SWIFT, and SIC payment flows. Strong hands-on testing in Payments and Back/Middle Office domains is required.

Qualificações

• 6+ years of QA/Testing experience with a Senior or Lead scope.

Responsabilidades

• Design and own test strategies, test plans, and test cases for Payments and Core Banking projects.
• Translate functional specifications, use cases, and user stories into clear, traceable test scenarios.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing across payment processing flows.
• Lead and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including planning, execution, and stakeholder sign-off.
• Identify, log, and validate defects, working directly with development teams to drive them to resolution.
• Build and maintain test data sets for complex payment scenarios (SEPA, SWIFT, SIC).
• Support post-go-live testing and monitoring activities.
• Collaborate with business analysts and technical teams to clarify requirements and close testing gaps early.
• Contribute to test estimation and planning during project scoping.
• Support clients throughout all project phases, acting as the quality voice in the room.

We're looking for a Senior QA Engineer with strong Payments and Banking Operations expertise to join an international Core Banking environment. You'll own the quality of critical payment flows end-to-end, working closely with business analysts, developers, and offshore teams to make sure every release ships solid.

This role sits at the centre of testing for Core Banking solutions in a Private Banking environment, from test strategy through to post-go-live validation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and own test strategies, test plans, and test cases for Payments and Core Banking projects.
• Translate functional specifications, use cases, and user stories into clear, traceable test scenarios.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing across payment processing flows.
• Lead and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including planning, execution, and stakeholder sign-off.

Mandatory Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in IT or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in QA / Testing roles, ideally with a Senior or Lead scope.
• Proven experience working with distributed and international delivery teams.
• Strong hands-on experience testing Payments environments.

• Payment Processing Flows
• SWIFT MT94x
• Experience in Banking Operations (Back Office / Middle Office) from a testing perspective.
• Solid experience with:
• Test Strategy and Test Plan design
• Test Case writing and execution
• Defect management and validation
• UAT coordination and sign-off
• Strong stakeholder management skills, comfortable running test-related workshops and defect triage sessions.

• Experience within Private Banking environments.
• Test automation experience (any framework).
