Job summary

ALTEN Delivery Centre Spain is seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer (Spring Boot) for a 100% remote role in Portugal. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, implement RESTful APIs, and work with Kafka, OpenShift, and CI/CD tooling in an Agile environment.

We expect 5+ years of Java experience, strong SQL/PostgreSQL knowledge, and hands-on experience with OpenShift, Jenkins, Kafka, and monitoring tools. English at least B2 is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in Java and Spring Boot development.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka.
• Experience with tools and libraries such as MapStruct, OpenAPI, and Avro.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools: Kibana and Datadog.
• Experience with OpenShift and Jenkins for deployment and CI/CD.
• Experience working in Agile (Scrum) environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Work with SQL and PostgreSQL databases, ensuring performance and data integrity.
• Implement and maintain event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka.
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support application deployment and CI/CD processes using OpenShift and Jenkins.
• Monitor application performance and resolve issues using Kibana and Datadog.
• Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning and technical discussions.
