Job summary

Quanteam, founding entity of Rainbow Partners, is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead international engineering teams in Germany and Portugal, delivering core business systems with a strong focus on quality and continuous improvement.

Based in Lisbon on a hybrid basis, you will coach engineers, align delivery with the roadmap, collaborate with Product Owners, and help shape our technology strategy in a dynamic consulting environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, QA engineering or another comparable technical role.
• Experience leading, coaching or developing engineers or engineering teams.
• Proven ability to combine people leadership, technical judgment and delivery ownership.
• Strong understanding of software quality, maintainability, testability and operational excellence.
• Ability to translate business priorities into realistic and sustainable engineering execution.
• Experience working closely with Product Owners, Agile Leads and business stakeholders.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with a collaborative and accountable approach.
• Experience in Agile environments.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Hybrid position based in Lisbon.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams across Germany and Portugal to deliver core systems.
• Balance people leadership with technical delivery ownership and ensure quality and continuous improvement.
• Own delivery execution and align with the technology roadmap.
• Ensure sustainable, predictable and high-quality software delivery.
• Coach engineers and manage staffing and performance.
• Provide technical direction and promote engineering best practices within the team.
• Drive engineering quality, maintainability, testability and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to translate priorities into realistic delivery plans.
• Act as the technical counterpart to the Product Owner.
• Contribute to technology strategy, standardization and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable and improvement-oriented engineering culture.
• Participate actively in the day-to-day work of agile product teams.

We are looking for a Engineering Manager

MAIN TASKS

• As an Engineering Manager, you will work in an international environment with engineering teams across Germany and Portugal, supporting the development and delivery of core business systems.
• The role combines people leadership, technical understanding and delivery ownership, with a strong focus on engineering quality, sustainable delivery and continuous improvement.
• Own delivery execution and contribute to the alignment with the technology roadmap;

YOUR PROFILE AND SKILLS

• Experience in Agile environments;
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
