Job summary

Sodexo Business Services (SBS) in Portugal is seeking a Finance Controlling professional to join our financial teams. The role emphasizes month-end closing, budgeting and reporting across European markets, with frequent interaction across Group finance, legal, treasury and tax functions.

You will support regional heads, prepare audits, and drive continuous improvement as part of a diverse, collaborative team committed to Sodexo's values and growth in Portugal.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or Management.
• 4-8 years’ experience in Controlling.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Pro-active and able to adapt to change.
• Ability to plan, manage and prioritise workload.
• Experience with business transformation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Month End Closing per Group finance guidelines.
• Provide day-to-day support to dimension heads for budget/forecast.
• Prepare semester and year-end closings for external audits.
• Monitor financial and non-financial flows and support regions.
• Monthly analysis of income tax and Capex at hubs level.
• Provide financial ad-hoc analysis as required.
• Interact with Group finance, Legal, Treasury, Tax and regional teams.

What will you do?

• Coordinate Month End Closing process of the team in respect of Group finance guidelines and timeline.
• Provide day-to-day support to some dimension’ heads to help them preparing (budget, forecast, …)
• Prepare semester and year-end closings for external audits
• Monitor some financial and non-financial flows on a quarterly basis in collaboration with legal department - support to region/countries; load and analyse off balance sheet commitments
• Monthly analysis of income tax and Capex at Hubs level
• Provide financial ad-hoc analysis when required
• Follow-up of costs of support functions for some dimensions - Perform analysis with monthly comments; manage gap analysis (actual vs. last year / forecast); Follow-up outstanding amounts (accruals, prepaid expenses)
• In your role, you will interact with the other teams Group finance (FP&A, consolidation, Legal, Treasury, Tax, and Group Financial Systems and Processes), with other functions and with Regions.

What you'll need to succeed?

• Strong command of verbal and written English
• Degree in Finance, Accounting or Management
• 4-8 years’ experience in Controlling function
• Pro-active, responsive and action orientated
• Ability to work in a constantly changing process environment
• Ability to work with & influence all stakeholders
• Deputise for the Controlling Manager where required
• Ability to understand business policies and procedures as they impact on the job role and business activity
• Ability to plan, manage & prioritise own and others workload.
• Ability to collate, interrogate and manage data and to create strategic direction based on data analysis
• Experience with business transformation and continuous improvement
• Desire to progress within the Sodexo organisation
• Strong interpersonal / people skills
